Steven Seagal: Lawman is an American reality TV series that aired on A&E Network on December 2, 2009 . The series' main character is Steven Seagal who is the Reserve Deputy Chief Sheriff in Jefferson Parish , Louisiana .
Content, broadcast & production
In the opening credits it is mentioned that Steven Seagal has been the sheriff in Jefferson Parish for 20 years. The program shows Steven Seagal's everyday life on patrol and as a weapons and martial arts trainer.
The broadcasting and production of the reality series was interrupted in the spring of 2010 due to a complaint of sexual harassment against Seagal. A further production was initially uncertain as the sheriffs department prohibited the shooting due to the indictment and a negative influence on police work through the shooting. After the ad was withdrawn, it was resumed. The series' third season began in early 2012.
