The Steyr MPi 69 is a submachine gun built by Steyr Daimler Puch .
At first glance, the Steyr MPi 69 is reminiscent of the Israeli Uzi and, like this one, is a shooting, unlocked recoil loader with a ground lock . The weapon was developed by Steyr engineer Moser with special consideration of manufacturing costs and functional reliability. The housing consists of a pressed steel part, which in turn is mounted in an injection-molded casing (with an integrated pistol grip) made of plastic. The barrel is manufactured using a special cold hammering process. The front half of the milled breech block encloses the barrel, so that a large part of its mass is arranged in front of the bumper. This allows a slightly longer run length than usual with a normal overall length at the same time.
The fire is selected by adjusting the safety button:

Safety button on the left: single and continuous fire (depending on the strength of the pressure with which the trigger is operated)
To tighten the locking piece is pulled back with the strap.
The weapon was delivered with the Steyr Panzerjäger K as on-board armament. For lack of use, it was assigned to the Jagdkommando. The weapon shoots very precisely and, unlike the Uzi, is "safe to use".
Model variants:
The MPi 81 is a more modern variant of the MPi 69. It has a conventional loading lever on the left side. The model was also available with a riflescope magnified 1.5 times and with a circular reticle, as well as a version with a sleeve screwed onto the barrel (barrel extension). As a result, the MPi 81 was also suitable for shooting from shooting hatches. The MPi 81 was used by commando units and tank crews. Using a kind of bayonet mounting on the screwed-on sleeve, these could fix the weapon in the tank in specially designed mounts.
