Stichting Lezen & Schrijven is a foundation based in The Hague and goes back to the initiative of Laurentien Brinkhorst . It was founded in 2004. The purpose is to promote literacy and reading skills in the Netherlands and internationally.

purpose

Around 1.5 million people in the Netherlands have difficulty reading and writing. The foundation wants to draw attention to this problem and contribute to a solution. The foundation organizes an annual literacy week (Week van de Alfabetisering) in the Netherlands.
