background

Tīna originally did not plan to take part in the Latvian Eurovision preliminary decision Supernova 2020 with the song , as she had already started production a year beforehand. She was able to win this with a majority of the total votes. Latvia entered the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 on May 14, 2020.

Music and lyrics

With the song, the interpreter wants to draw attention to the stereotyping of women. Women are perfect mothers, spouses and successful career people who at the same time have to look after their loved ones without getting anything in return. As women, they don't have time to pause, but the most important thing is to be content with yourself.

“We women don't have time to stop - We keep breathing and doing. But what really matters most is that we are happy and in love with ourselves, without losing ourselves as a woman, that we find time for ourselves - not as mothers, wives, careerists, but simply as women, whatever our social status, marital status , size and public stereotypes. "

“We women don't have time to take a break - we keep breathing and carry on. But it is most important that we are happy and love ourselves without losing ourselves as women, to find time for ourselves - not as mothers, wives, career women, but simply as women, regardless of our social status, marital status, Greatness or public prejudice. "

- Samanta Tina

The music mostly bears characteristics of electro . The stanzas are framed by the identical verses that begin with the line “I will keep on going, I will keep on running” ( “I will keep going, I'll keep running ). The second repetition of the chorus is followed by a rapped bridge, which contains the eponymous phrase "Still Breathing" .
