The constituency of Meissen I was a state electoral district for the state elections in Saxony in 1990 , the first state election after the re-establishment of the state of Saxony. Its constituency number was 22.

The constituency comprised part of the cities and municipalities of the district of Meißen  : Diera , Gröbern , Großdobritz , Jahna-Löthain , Meißen , Niederau , Niederlommatzsch , Ockrilla , Piskowitz b. Zehren , Weinböhla , Winkwitz and Zehren .

For the 1994 state elections , the constituency structure was changed as a result of the district reform, and the number of constituencies was reduced from 80 to 60. The area of ​​the constituency of Meissen I was divided into two constituencies in 1994. While the places Diera, Jahna-Löthain, Meißen, Niederlommatzsch, Winkwitz and Zehren were assigned to the constituency of Meißen-Dresden West , the remaining localities came to the constituency of Meißen-Dresden East .
