The Rough Deep is a 28 km-long, 10 km wide and at least 750 m below sea level lying Meerestief in the southeast of Prydz Bay in front of the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth country . Its greatest depth is over 1200 m below sea level

The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it based on the naming of the Rauer Islands, 30 km to the west .
