Ockrilla is a part of the municipality Niederau in the district of Meißen . With 633 inhabitants, it is the next largest village in the municipality after Niederau.

Ockrilla is located about 4 km northeast of Meißen on the federal road 101 to Großenhain .
history
The first people settled on a trade route in 1205 and named this place Ocrul . The place had several inns over the centuries, at peak times there were 14 at the same time in Ockrilla. There's only one left today.
From 1986 to 1996, the municipality of Ockrilla also included the neighboring villages of Jessen and Gröbern . Ockrilla has been part of the Niederau community since 1994.
