Voice of the woman

The Voice of Women was a magazine of the communist women's movement in Austria . It was the oldest women's magazine in Austria. It was published by Globus Verlag .

The first edition appeared on October 27, 1945 with an edition of 50,000 copies. The first editor-in-chief was Renée Dürmayer, a former Spain fighter . Bärbel Mende-Danneberg last held this position. The medium dealt with the topics of peace and, above all, women's rights and gave practical help and advice on everyday issues such as cooking , sewing , fashion , education , reading material , etc. The last issue appeared in March 1993. The KPÖ , the only donor, had stopped subsidizing . In November 1993 the magazine Forum for Feminist GangArten was founded as a follow-up project to the Voice of Women .
