It is located in the north-western part of the historic Quedlinburger Neustadt and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . It is registered as a residential building in the Quedlinburg monument register.
Architecture and history
The two-storey half - timbered house was built in 1685 according to an inscription on the building, and 1686 according to other information. This makes it the oldest building on the street that has largely been preserved in its original form. The inscription contains a coat of arms and the initials A B . It is assumed that this refers to the Quedlinburg master carpenter Andreas Besen as a builder. The half-timbered facade has a variety of decorative elements. This is how profiled filler wood and parapet planks are made. There are also pyramid beam heads , ship throats , St. Andrew's cross and parapet struts. In addition, the compartments are provided with decorative brickwork.
