Stock Island is an island in the Florida Keys .

The island is about 3.5 km long and 1.3 km wide. The area is 3.67 km², and the population is 5386 (2000 census). It is located immediately east of the island of Key West and is separated from it by the Chow Channel , which is at least 70 meters wide , and connected to it via the Overseas Highway , as the section of US Highways 1 is called here. Racoon Key Island (better known as Key Haven ) is 200 meters to the east and is also connected to the Overseas Highway. Further east is the large Boca Chica Key with the Naval Air Station Key West .

The part of the island north of the Overseas Highway with an area of ​​1.52 km² and 977 inhabitants is part of the city of Key West . The southern part with 2.15 km² and 4410 inhabitants is a census-designated place called Stock Island in Monroe County (the small uninhabited island of Cow Key immediately southwest of Stock Key is also included in this area).
