The multi-storey housing estate Walchenseeplatz is located in the Munich district of Obergiesing .

location

The multi-storey settlement Walchenseeplatz extends between Perlacher, Untersberg-, Deisenhofener Straße, Rotwandstraße, Walchenseeplatz and Rottacher Straße.

history

The multi-storey housing estate Walchenseeplatz was built between 1927 and 1930 by the non-profit housing welfare AG as part of the Munich large housing estate program . The preliminary design for the estate comes from the architect Hanna Löv . However, only about two thirds of the planned volume was implemented under the direction of Carl Jaeger . Jaeger were assigned for this by the job creation program for architects Hans Atzenbeck , Joseph Dürr , Hans Grünzweig , Fritz Landauer , Fritz Männche and Max Schoen .

The Walchenseeplatz and its north-facing buildings were already specified in the planning. Elongated, four-storey blocks shield the settlement on Perlacher Strasse and Deisenhofener Strasse, whereby the block on Deisenhofener Strasse with its raised corner buildings stands out from the other blocks. Along the Perlacher Straße the blocks follow the road and follow its slight oscillation.

In the interior of the multi-storey settlement Walchenseeplatz there are also four-storey row buildings facing north to south - in accordance with the urban planning ideas prevailing at the time. In some cases, there are also additional single-storey intermediate buildings for shops and offices - each at the head of the row buildings. This results in traffic-calmed, spacious courtyards with play facilities for children and devices for hanging up laundry.
