The Stoglaw (Russian: one hundred chapters) is a Russian moral code that was compiled at the time of Ivan IV (1530–1584) with the assistance of Metropolitan Makarij of Moscow (1482–1563). He gave answers to those questions that the tsar had put to the council in 1551 and was supposed to counteract superstition and "heretical" movements and safeguard the old Russian customs and virtues through enlightenment in the church organizations.
