Content and draftsman

Storie Blu was created in 1979 as an offshoot of the successful Fumetti series Terror Blu , which for the first time combined science fiction stories with extreme depictions of sex, violence and torture. Similar to Terror Blu , Storie Blu crossed the line to pornography from around 1981 . A total of 122 issues were published, the last of which is numbered 122/123. Between autumn 1983 and summer 1990 42 editions of the Storie Blu Special appeared . New editions appeared under the titles Libidine Blu and Fumetti del futuro .

The individual issues are not linked in terms of content apart from a few two-part articles. In addition to the sadistic depictions, the series' narrative features are its cynical humor, nihilism and extreme misogyny . The plots quote numerous typical science fiction motifs from the 1960s and 70s. The focus of the representation are mostly sadistic, criminal or monstrous aliens . Often the heroines are involuntarily involved in interstellar conspiracies, kidnapped or transported through time travel and dimensional shifts to strange, sometimes surreal places. Most editions end with the death of the main female characters. As a draftsman of the series stepped u. a. Lorenzo Lepori, Dino Simeoni, Augusto Chizzoli, Pier Carlo Macchi and Francesco Blanc appear. Francesco Blanc, who illustrated 43 editions, was one of the most prolific draftsmen of the series.

In BDSM circles, Storie Blu is a popular collector's item to this day.
