Storify

The Storify Inc. was in September 2010 in San Francisco , USA , was established by Xavier Damman and Burt Herman online service for integrating external content. In 2013, the company announced that around 850,000 users, the majority of whom were journalists, agencies and brand companies, were using the platform. There was a free basic version and paid applications for editorial management , galleries, user evaluations and automated filtering and analysis.

Users use the drag-and-drop method to write articles and information and have the option of uploading multimedia content, for example messages (tweets from Twitter , YouTube or Vimeo videos, photos from Flickr ), small audio files and web feeds link and compose. Journalists, for example, have the option of embedding eyewitness reports from the location of the event in websites with their own URL or in a frame on the website in a narrative thread - as can the integration in mobile apps and TV programs.

In September 2013 Livefyre Inc. ( California , USA) took over Storify and planned to integrate it into its platform with comment functions. Livefyre already offers social media supply services (e.g. Facebook , Instagram , Twitter) and supports user involvement in media companies and brands on the Internet. In doing so, the company uses content from users in social media.

After the announcement in December 2017 that Storify would be discontinued the following year and that all content would be deleted, the service was finally switched off on May 16, 2018.
