Vinzenz de Pay (born February 17, 1813 in Riedlingen ; † after 1887) was a German architect and construction clerk .

Life

Vinzenz de Pay was a son of the city councilor Joseph Fidel de Pay. Between 1830 and 1835 he received training in the schools of the building councils Gaab and Bühler and later worked primarily in railway construction. In 1842 he became a city ​​architect in Cannstatt . In this capacity he built a mineral bath house on Sulzerrain and in 1847 directed the restoration of the church in Markgröningen . In 1850 he was involved in the construction of the Enz Viaduct in Bietigheim . Two years later he was a master builder in Rottweil , and in Esslingen in 1862 .

St. Nicholas in Gutenberg

The elevation of the St. Nicholas Church in Gutenberg , which was built in 1865/1866, came from de Pay. In 1868 de Pay was appointed building officer and from 1869 he worked as a building expert for the court domain chamber. In 1887 he retired.

Her son Johannes emerged from her marriage to Jeanette von Mögling in 1844 .

Another descendant was probably a royal Württemberg railway construction inspector named V. de Pay, who was retired in 1911. In 1903, this de Pay presented a curve palette with the help of which railroad and street trains could be entered on maps without compasses or other instruments. The instrument, which was described in the Zentralblatt der Bauverwaltung as “transparent and resistant”, was sold by L. Jennewein in Stuttgart.
