In addition to today's Stormarn district, Stormarn also included the area of today 's Pinneberg district , part of Steinburg district , parts of Segeberg district and today's area of the Hanseatic city of Hamburg north of the Elbe. There is spoken of the "Stormarni" as one of the Saxon tribes.
