Story of Eroolia ( Japanese エ ル ー リ ア 物語 Erūria monogatari , German: Geschichte von Eroolia ) is a visual novel series for a female target group ( otome game ), developed and published by ROSEVERTE for Windows , Mac OS , iOS and Android . The series currently consists of three games; How To Take Off Your Mask ( Japanese 貴 方 の 仮 面 の 外 し 方 Anata no Kamen no Hazushi-kata , German: How to take off your mask ), How To Fool A Liar King ( Japanese 嘘 つ き な 王 様 の 騙 し 方 Usotsukina ōsama no damashi-kata , German: How to deceive a lying king ) and How To Sing To Open Your Heart ( Japanese 心 を 開 く 歌 い 方 Kokoro o hiraku utai-kata , German: How to sing to open your heart ).
Game mechanics
Since this is a visual novel series, the player reads the story and makes decisions at key points to change the outcome, resulting in different endings. The games are divided into several chapters and depending on the decision, the player follows a different route. In each game, the player takes control of another female protagonist and can fall in love with one of the male characters.

Story of Eroolia is a collection of stories about humans and cat people who live on the island of Eroolia, a land isolated from the outside world. Eroolia and Laarz are the two countries on the island of Eroolia. The mysterious island with unstable weather is inhabited by the cat people called "Luccretias". The two countries are not on good terms with each other, as Eroolia, which is mostly inhabited by humans, does not get along with Laarz, the land of the Luccretias.

The games were created with Lemonovel AIR. The story was written by Chu-3 while the graphics were made by Bakufu Narayama and Chu-3. Each game has a theme song and is fully dubbed in Japanese. The first game was originally published in Japanese and English. It was later translated into German, French, Polish, Russian and Spanish. The entire series is now available in German.

The series received mixed to positive reviews.
Marcus Estrada from Hardcore Gamer rated the first game 4 out of 5 and said: “In addition to the cute aspects, it also brings (fictionalized) social issues to the fore in order to make Lilia's later triumph all the greater. It might be short, but How To Take Off Your Mask is a good little story. ”The first game also got an“ Outstanding ”rating with a score of 8.3 out of 10 on GAMERamble, with the reviewer saying,“ Though not great In-depth, How To Take Off Your Mask is well written and covers some interesting topics.
