Stowford is a cider that is sold through the Guinness breweries . Production is still in the hands of H. Weston & Sons Ltd. in Herefordshire , England.

With an alcohol content of 4.5% by volume and a drier taste, it is called Medium Dry Cider .

Manufacturing

Two apple varieties specially grown for processing are used for the production. The maturation takes place traditionally in oak barrels.

history

Westons Cider was founded in Herefordshire by Henry Weston in 1880. Helen Thomas, great-granddaughter of Henry Weston, has been Managing Director of Westons Cider since 1996.

Distribution in Germany

Stowford is often served in Irish pubs in Germany. The reason lies in the connection to the Guinness and thus to the Diageo group, through which the beverage wholesalers purchase their export beers.
