Strösitz

Strösitz , also Strozwitz , was a village not far from today's Köthen (Anhalt) . The village was originally a Slavic settlement, which was founded in the 8th and 9th centuries. Century. The name is also of Sorbian origin, which means guard place or waiting area (cf. Upper Sorbian stróža ). The village was northwest of Koethen and the Ziethe . In 1370 the village was still occupied, in 1481 it is described as desolate .
