from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The prison archive is an institution for the documentation of and information about law and legal reality in prisons , which was established at the University of Bremen in the early 1970s , but has been in Dortmund since 2012.

history

The archive was founded in 1979 in connection with the work on the first edition of the (alternative) commentary on the Penal Code (AK StVollzG). However, it was only named "Prison Archive" in 1983. The first employee of the archive was Denis Pécic , who at that time traveled from Hamburg every working day as an outdoor prisoner from the Moritz-Liepmann-Haus . It is thanks to him that contacts were established with the prisoner’s newspapers and extensive correspondence with individual prisoners was initiated.

The prison archive ceased its work at the University of Bremen on December 31, 2011. However, it is from the criminal and migration lawyer Christine Graebsch and Sven-U. Burkhardt continued at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences .

The prison archive deals with

  • collecting legal materials, court decisions and literature
  • Research on the prison system
