Bundle of rays

In geometric optics, a bundle of rays is understood to be a number of rays (e.g. light , particle radiation ) that run exactly or approximately parallel to one another.

The vergence of a beam can be:

• convergent
• cylindrical (vergence: zero)
• divergent.

Bundles are limited by apertures .
