Radiation balance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A radiation balance is used to balance the radiation exchange between a system and its surroundings . The radiation fluxes that leave the system are offset against those that affect the system from outside. It is a special form of energy balance that is used in particular when other processes of energy and in particular heat transfer , such as heat conduction or convection , do not occur or have no effect beyond the system limits. The most important example is the earth's radiation balance .
