Beach hall in Ueckermünde

The beach hall with the address Am Strand 2 in Ueckermünde is a listed restaurant.

history

The beach hall was built from 1926 by the Ueckermündes non-profit swimming pool, which initially operated it. In 1938 a terrace was added. During the GDR era, the GDR state trade was responsible for the beach hall and it was run as an HO self-service restaurant, in 1990 it was taken over by the Treuhand and in 1994 transferred back to the city of Ueckermünde, which leased it to the Radeberger Brewery . This carried out an insufficient basic renovation. The beach hall was operated as a restaurant until 2000 and then had to be closed due to acute water damage and general structural defects. It was planned to recommission it in 2003. In order to achieve sufficient utilization, plans were made to connect the beach hall with a newly built wellness hotel. In 2004 it went into private ownership.

The Ueckermünder Strandhalle is back in operation after a thorough renovation. It has a total of around 1001 m² of usable space, the restaurant, the terrace, a large and a smaller hall are managed.
