In 1872 the brewery was founded as a share brewery Zum Bergkeller . Since 1885 it has been trading under the name Radeberger Exportbrauerei . By decree of December 11, 1905, the export beer brewery was allowed to designate its Radeberger Pilsner as " His Majesty the King Friedrich August von Sachsen's table drink ". This development from a small brewery to a large industrial operation was brought about by the then director of the brewery Conrad Brüne , who also arranged for the king to visit the brewery in 1907. The Radeberger export beer brewery has received countless awards, medals, recognitions and prizes of honor at numerous trade fairs and various specialist exhibitions for its achievements in the field of beer brewing. Some of these awards, some of them historical, are still advertised today. In the GDR times, Radeberger beer was mainly exported abroad or sold in Interhotels .

After 1990 the brewery facilities were renewed on a large scale. Today Radeberger is one of the most modern breweries in Europe. In 2002 Radeberger celebrated 130 years of the export beer brewery. In the same year the “ Binding Group” was renamed “Radeberger Group”.
