Strandtorp Mill

Strandtorp is a village on the Swedish Baltic Sea island of Öland, belonging to the municipality of Borgholm .

The settlement is on the west coast of the island towards Kalmar Strait . On the east side of the village, highway 136 leads from Färjestaden to Borgholm , a little to the north . To the east of Strandtorp lies the barren landscape of an Alvar . Fewer than 50 people live in the village (as of 2005).

Strandtorp is a relatively young village by Öland standards. The development of the land and the construction of the village did not begin until 1757.

The landmark of the village is the Strandtorp mill located at the eastern entrance to the village . To the south of the mill is the prehistoric cemetery of Strandtorp .
