Straton I was an Indo-Greek king who lived around 125 to about 110 BC. Ruled.

Straton I. (Latin: Strato ) was the son of Agathokleia and probably of Menander I. He seems to have been very young at the beginning of the reign, so that his mother ruled for him, but from a certain point on ruled alone. At the beginning of the reign, his empire consisted largely of the areas that his father had conquered, especially Gandhara , western Punjab and India as far as Mathura were ruled by Straton. Only in the west was part of the Reichsverband detached, but parts of Gandhara were also lost under Straton I. But he could still hold Mathura.

The catchphrase Dharmika (of the Dharma ) can be found on some of his coins , which may indicate a turn to Buddhism . The ruler is the only one from the Indo-Greek line who was sometimes depicted with a beard.
