The Strawberry Tour is an amateur - Golf Tournament Series of the Austrian company sports right GmbH, based in Linz ( Austria ). In Germany , the tour has also been marketed by Golf4Life GmbH ( Rosenheim ) since 2016 .
history
Launched in 2005 as an amateur tournament series open to all golfers, the Strawberry Tour quickly developed into a premium golf tournament series in Austria. In 2017, around 2,300 golfers and over 160 partner clubs in Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary took part, making it one of the most successful amateur tournament series in the German-speaking region.
concept
Every golfer acquires the right to start the tour by purchasing a tour card. This card entitles you to participate in around 450 tournaments in the partner golf clubs. If golfers take part in one of these tournaments, they do not have to pay the usual tournament or green fee fees, but only a flat rate per tournament. The participants can play tournaments at selected courts at a reasonable price and gain experience in order to improve their game as well as their handicap .
From 2009 the tour card also became a benefit card. The players receive up to 50 percent green fee reduction at almost all partner clubs outside of tournaments.
A bonus system was added from 2017, which enables participants to win prizes regardless of their sporting performance.

The aim of the Strawberry Tour is to promote golf on as broad a basis as possible, especially in Austria but also in neighboring countries. This promotion is effective because the Strawberry Tour gives golfers of all skill levels, nationalities and ages the opportunity to play tournaments cheaply and without special club membership on a wide variety of courses. However, the tour is also very popular with the clubs as it brings them a ton of extra starters for their tournaments.
Game mode
- The tour is open to all golfers
- The tour includes selected tournaments in Austria, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Hungary
- Each participant registers himself for the tournament he has chosen. There is no limit to the number of tournaments that can be played.
- All Strawberry tournaments are organized independently by the respective partner club and rated in Stableford . The game is played according to the official golf rules of R & A Golf Club of St. Andrews and approved by the respective tournament directors course rules .
- The evaluation of the Strawberry Tour starters takes place exclusively in net points. The ratings are forwarded directly from the partner club to Sport-direkt and managed there centrally.
Final tournaments
- For the overall rating required for participation in the final tournament, the best net results that were achieved on three different places are used and added up (if the number of points is the same, the better discarded result decides). Participation in the final tournament is only possible if at least one tournament has been played on three different places.
- The Strawberry Tour is played in six handicap groups. The first 30 of each handicap group qualify for one of the final tournaments.
- In the final tournaments, the top three in each group each win a golf week in a top golf destination.
- All participants who qualify for a final tournament will receive tournament prizes. The first three in each handicap group will win the main prize, one golf week each in a top golf destination on the Mediterranean.
