The Streck Transport mbH is a German freight forwarding - and logistics company headquartered in Loerrach , Baden-Wurttemberg. The company has 19 locations in Germany , eight of them in Switzerland .

The Streck group of companies has around 1200 employees, including around 820 in Germany and 380 in Switzerland. It offers 85,000 square meters of storage space at its locations and operates 246 international long-distance vehicles. The number of shipments transported by Streck was around 1.6 million in 2018.

history

The company was founded on August 1, 1946 by Karl Streck († 1998) as a forwarding agent , and was entered in the commercial register on October 18, 1948. In 1976, it was one of the founding companies of DPD , the former German parcel service .

After the business with the import and distribution of flowers was started in 1958, the branch in Freiburg im Breisgau was opened in 1962. In 1963, the company moved to Switzerland with the founding of the Basel location, and in 1977 the current Swiss headquarters were located in Möhlin in the canton of Aargau. In 1986 Streck Transport was a founding member of SystemGut GmbH (today System Alliance), a network of medium-sized German logistics service providers.

In 1993 the company was certified for the first time according to the quality management standard DIN ISO 9002. In 1998 the company's founder, Karl Streck, died, and in 1996 Herbert Boll was appointed as his successor as head of the company group. Under his leadership, the company expanded steadily, for example the high-bay warehouse in the Hochdorf industrial park at the Freiburg location was expanded in 1999; In addition, the air freight business (including the opening of branches at Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Zurich, and Stuttgart airports) was expanded. In 2003 a high-bay warehouse was opened at the Swiss location in Möhlin, and in 2010 a freight X-ray system was put into operation in Freiburg, where a state-of-the-art logistics facility was also put into operation in 2012.

After the Möhlin logistics center moved into newly built premises in 2015, Herbert Boll handed over the chairmanship of the management to Bernd Schäfer in 2017.

Today, Streck Transport, with around 1.6 million shipments per year and a fleet of around 550 long-distance and area vehicles (2018 figures), is the market leader for transport and logistics services in the border triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland, but not only active regionally, but across Cooperation networked worldwide. The company, which recorded a group turnover of 265 million euros in 2018, offers a. also additional services such as customs clearance, dangerous goods transport, logistics consulting or supply chain management.
