String class

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A string class is understood to mean a school class that learns a string instrument (usually violin , viola , cello , rarely double bass ) together as part of music lessons . The implementing schools cooperate with local music schools .

Paul Rolland's concept, which originally came from the USA, has so far only been hesitant in Germany in the shadow of the wind classes . Because of the organizational and financial effort there are few string classes. The class sets of instruments and accompanying literature offered by the Yamaha company for wind classes are not available for string classes.

The developments of string class material are now very diverse. Music publishers now offer material for the string class. Various textbooks, deliberately separated from the “Rolland Method”, have been established.
