Strikes and Spares is a 1934 American short film that was a guide to bowling .
action
A woman and a man are playing in a bowling alley. The two play excellent. Andy Varipapa, a bowling professional from Italy, demonstrates handles, foot positions and swings for straight throws and bow throws. Varipapa then performs a number of artifacts that are shown at normal speed and in slow motion. The hapless attempts of a little man and the enthusiasm of the pin operator Sunshine are interspersed.
