The Bistum Lwena ( lat. : Dioecesis Lvenana ) is in Angola preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Luena . It covers part of the province of Moxico .

history

Pope Paul VI founded the Diocese of Luso with the Apostolic Constitution Venerabilis Frater on July 1, 1963 from cession of territory by the Diocese of Silva Porto . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Luanda as a suffragan diocese.

On February 3, 1977, it became part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Huambo . On May 16, 1979, it took on its current name.
