José Próspero da Ascensão Puaty
José Próspero da Ascensão Puaty (born April 10, 1928 in Imanya , Cabinda Province , Angola ; † October 12, 2001 ) was an Angolan clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Lwena .
Life
José Próspero since Ascensão Puaty received on 17 July 1957, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On February 3, 1977 Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Luso . The Apostolic Nuncio in Angola, Archbishop Giovanni De Andrea , donated him episcopal ordination on April 17th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Lubango , Alexandre do Nascimento , and the Archbishop of Huambo , Manuel Franklin da Costa .
Since the diocese was renamed on May 16, 1979, he was Bishop of Lwena.
Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation as Bishop of Lwena on June 7, 2000.
