Manuel Franklin da Costa

Manuel Franklin da Costa (born August 31, 1921 in Cabinda , Angola ; † July 17, 2003 ) was an Angolan clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Lubango .

Life

Manuel Franklin da Costa received on 25 January 1948, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On August 10, 1975, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the first bishop of Henrique de Carvalho, who was erected on the same date . The Apostolic Nuncio in Angola, Archbishop Giovanni De Andrea , donated him episcopal ordination on September 14 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Luanda , Manuel Nunes Gabriel , and his coadjutor , Archbishop Eduardo André Muaca .

On February 3, 1977, he was appointed Archbishop of Huambo .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Lubango on September 12, 1986 . The Pope accepted his age-related resignation on January 15, 1997.
