Américo Henriques
Américo Henriques (born October 6, 1923 in Alburitel , † August 14, 2006 ) was Bishop of Lamego .
Life
Jacinto Tomás de Carvalho Botelho was ordained a priest for the Lamego diocese on July 19, 1947 . Pope Paul VI appointed him on July 3, 1966 auxiliary bishop in Lamego and titular bishop of Tisili .
The apostolic nuncio in Portugal , Maximilien de Fürstenberg , donated him episcopal ordination on October 11 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were João da Silva Campos Neves , Bishop of Lamego, and João Pereira Venâncio , Bishop of Leiria .
On April 15, 1967, the Pope appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Lamego. After his predecessor's retirement , he succeeded him on February 2, 1971. On February 19, 1972 he was appointed Bishop of Nova Lisboa . He resigned from this office on April 13, 1976.
