Straw spreading device
Straw spreading devices are agricultural machines that are used to distribute straw in fields or in the barn for litter purposes.
Intended use
In strawberry cultivation, a straw mulch pad is used to keep the fruit free from soil contamination. At the same time, the straw layer has an insulating effect. In the stable, straw distributors make bedding work easier.
functionality
Devices for strawberry fields
Modern devices take the roughly 300 kg heavy bales onto a platform above the cabin roof using a type of scraper floor . Then the cords are removed, the straw is loosened by tearing rollers and then placed behind the tractor between the rows of strawberries. Devices for high pressure bales are occasionally in use. A platform at the rear takes about 50 of the 20 kg bales. The operator removes the cord and stuffs the straw into an opening. There it is also loosened up and placed between the rows.
Equipment for stable litter
Most devices have a scraper floor with which they transport the straw to the opening rollers. From there, the straw is usually conveyed into the barn via a large fan. In addition to stand-alone devices, there are universal feed mixers with a built-on fan.
