Power pedal
The current pedal in an electric car corresponds to the gas pedal in a vehicle with a combustion engine . It regulates the speed of the electric vehicle via a potentiometer .
The current pedal is a new technical term that has been increasingly appearing since 2008.
Function and structure
After changing the automatic lever from P to D, the current pedal regulates its speed via the frequency or current converter in the electric motor . With the power pedal, the vehicle brake takes a back seat as far as possible: taking back the power pedal also reduces the speed as an energy-saving driving style . Similar to a generator, it feeds the energy already gained back into the vehicle batteries .
