Power loop

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The freely hanging current loops under the insulator chains connect the sections of the conductor cables with one another

In the case of a guy pole, the current loop is the section of the conductor cable which , in the case of an overhead line, leads from the end of one guy insulator to the end of the other guy insulator on the same mast. Typical applications are high-voltage lines .

In the case of guy poles, where the line changes its course at a considerable angle (by 90 degrees or more), the current loop is often routed with an additional insulator in order to maintain the required distance from the (earthed) pole. There are also certain mast constructions in which the current loop is led around the mast construction in an arc on several insulators. With some medium-voltage pylons, the current loop is led away above the traverse with a standing insulator attached to it.
