The VDI students and young engineers ( SuJ ) are a voluntary network of the Association of German Engineers (VDI), which is also organized locally. The network represents students from more than 60 German universities offering engineering training and engineers who have recently or already been in the profession. The seat is in the main office of the VDI in Düsseldorf .

organization

Active VDI members organize themselves in local teams at locations of German universities. Regular team meetings form the basis for the work on site. The team leader and his deputy are appointed from among the active members. The team leader takes care of the organizational issues of the team on site and establishes the connection between the members and the district association (regional association of the VDI, e.g. Württembergischer Ingenieurverein). In addition, the team leader represents the opinion of the local association to the SuJ board annual active meeting.

Projects

Technology competitions are held especially at the active meetings. In addition, the students and young engineers can actively contribute to the various VDI companies / VDI specialist groups.

The organization of get-togethers for local members or participation in various events with a technical background, such as the Hanover Fair , or excursions (e.g. Audi R8 excursion, CERN - Geneva) are examples of what the network offers.

Career

Discussions on various topics are offered to support students and young engineers in their careers. In addition, career seminars, workshops and seminars on " soft skills " take place at the active meetings.

By participating in the SuJ, contacts can be made throughout Germany and when participating in EYE events (European Young Engineers).

The network is established by:

• Exchange of experiences between students and professionals

• Participation in internal company exchanges
• direct line to deputy professors at many universities.
