Augsburg Student Union
The Student Union Augsburg is according to the Regulation on the Bavarian student services for the approximately 37,000 students at the University of Augsburg , the Augsburg University , the University of Kempten and Neu-Ulm University responsible.
The task of the Studentenwerk includes the economic, social, health and cultural support of the students. It has the legal form of an institution under public law , the supervisory authority and legal supervision is the Bavarian State Ministry for Science, Research and Art (legal supervision). It is a member of the German Student Union .
The student unions in Germany emerged from student self-help organizations after the First World War . With the announcement of October 9, 1972, the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture established a student union in the legal form of "Public Law Institution" with the name "Augsburg Student Union" and its headquarters in Augsburg with effect from January 1, 1973 . The business was initially run by the Munich Student Union until its own management was set up in October 1973.

The assembly of representatives consists of: 3 professors per university, 3 students per university, the senior administrative officer of each university and women's representative from each university.
The administrative board consists of: 2 representatives of the professors, 2 representatives of the students, a public figure, a representative of the employees of the student union and a women's representative from one of the universities
