Chair proof

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In pre-industrial, rural society, the chair festival was a ritual part of the preparation for a wedding . These were to "a solemn private conversation between the pastor and the couple in which the pastor first in the presence of witnesses, the squad prepared and then, after the adoption of the witnesses, duties and responsibilities of the future Christian home stand clearly appeals". The bride and groom wore festive clothing for this solemn act. Contractual matters such as handing over the farm or the marriage contract had previously been dealt with by the notary. Then the wedding loader took up its activity. In north-western Upper Bavaria chair festivals took place well into the 20th century.

In contrast to this, the Petri Stuhlfest is a general Catholic holiday; see Kathedra Petri .
