Hedi Heres (born October 18, 1939 in Dachau ; † November 25, 2010 ibid) was a presenter of radio and television programs and the author of books on cultural history. She was a member of the southern German literary association of Munich tower writers . Until her retirement in 2003, she was a high school teacher of chemistry, biology and geography.

Life

Hedi Heres grew up in a musical family. Her father, Heinrich Neumaier, the Dachau head of studies and artist, dealt intensively with music and tradition in the old Bavarian region . Hedi Heres received singing and piano lessons as a child, and the cultivation and practice of music was given a lot of space in her family. After the war, various contacts arose with important folk musicians of the time, such as Kiem Pauli , Wastl Fanderl , Annette Thoma , Tobi Reiser and Georg von Kaufmann .

Since 1976 she has worked as a freelancer in the folk music department of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation and moderator of programs on the topics of customs and local history. Programs like “Rosmarin und greane Blattl” on folk songs with a botanical content and “In the evening in the parlor” are associated with their names. She took over a folk music program as the successor to Wastl Fanderl. From 1995 to 1997 she moderated 34 programs "Hoagarten" on Bavarian television. In addition, she wrote numerous essays on folklore topics and several books.

Hedi Heres was awarded the Bayerischer Poetentaler in 2006 for services to Bavarian culture. She was married to Horst Heres.

On November 25, 2010, at the age of 71, she succumbed to a serious illness.
