Annette Thoma (born January 23, 1886 in Neu-Ulm (according to other information in Ulm ); † November 26, 1974 in Ruhpolding ; born Annette Schenk ) dealt with the cultivation of the sacred folk song and is known as the creator of the "German Farmer's Fair" .

She studied English and French. After her marriage to the painter Emil Thoma , she lived in Riedering . Their German Farmer's Mass , which quotes the famous devotional yodeler ( recorded in Sterzing in 1830 ), was first performed by the Riederinger singers on June 29, 1933 in the "Badkapelle" in Wildbad Kreuth . The work was widely distributed and led to the renaissance of the sacred folk song in Bavaria. Annette Thoma worked closely with Kiem Pauli , whom she met in 1930 , to maintain the Bavarian folk song . She also wrote the texts for the first Salzburg Advent Singing in 1946 .
