Hedi Preissegger

Hedi Preissegger (actually Hedwig Preissegger; born May 10, 1951 ) is an Austrian composer and choir director of the "Grenzlandchor Arnoldstein". She lives in Pörtschach am Wörther See in Carinthia .

Live and act

Gretl Komposch's daughter made her debut as a soloist in the Arnoldstein Grenzlandchor with the song Ave Maria at the age of four . At the age of twelve the first vocal climax took place on record with a solo in the Grenzlandchor. On numerous concert tours on all five continents, Hedwig Preissegger delighted an audience of millions with her solo performances. She remained loyal to the choir as a singer for more than 40 years until she took over as choir director in 2006.

She is also active as a composer. Her first composition So zoart wia a Federle comes from the 1980s. In the meantime she has composed more than 100 works that are not only known in Austria.
