Storm flood

A storm flood is a by storm occurring with onshore winds and adverse currents floods in sea areas where the tidal range does not matter. A water level of more than one meter above normal mean water is commonly referred to as storm flood, and this occurs on average twice a year. In contrast to a storm surge , a storm surge is not an increased tidal current. Usually storm floods are still referred to as storm surges.
