Abrogated subacromial space in a patient with an ancient rotator cuff lesion. The humeral head is high and forms a neo-joint with the acromion.
Narrowing of the subacromial space can lead to impingement syndrome . If the rotator cuff is torn, the head of the humerus is stepped up to narrow or dissolve and a neo-joint can develop between the humerus and the acromion.
