The Denny-Brown syndrome (Subacute sensory neuropathy, ganglionitis) is one of the paraneoplastic polyneuropathy , d. H. a disease of the peripheral nerves on the base of a malignant tumor , here mostly a so-called small cell lung carcinoma .

In Denny-Brown syndrome, the sensory fibers are primarily affected, with degeneration of the spinal and autonomic ganglia . This results in progressive , distally accentuated painful paresthesia over weeks and months , in the further course disturbances of the deep sensitivity with pronounced sensitive ataxia and pseudo- athetosis and disturbances of the autonomic regulation. Anti-Hu antibodies can be positive, more rarely CV 2 / CRMP 5 , amphiphysine and ANNA-3 antibodies.
