Subaru Tecnica International KK ( STi , Japanese ス バ ル テ ク ニ カ イ ン タ ー ナ シ ョ ナ ル 株式会社 , Subaru Tekunika Intānashonaru kabushiki kaisha ) was founded on April 2, 1988 by Fuji Heavy Industries in Mitaka . Fuji provided its newest subsidiary with starting capital of 50 million yen , which was increased by a further 150 million yen to a total of 200 million yen on November 2 of the same year .

STI has three tasks:

STi was best known for its activities in the World Rally Championship (WRC). First with the Subaru RX Turbo in Group A , then later in Group N with the Subaru Legacy and the Subaru Impreza .

Furthermore, the WRX-STi variants and a very large number of special versions have been manufactured for Subaru since 1994. The vehicles of the Blitzen brand were also developed by the STi.
