Subcarpathian Mountains

As Subkarpaten (Romanian Subcarpaţi ; German Vorkarpaten or Subcarpathian ), the foreshore or promontory of the Carpathian in Romania designated. Parallel to the Eastern Carpathians and the Southern Carpathians, it is divided into the Eastern and Moldavian Subcarpathians and the Getic Subcarpathians - which are located east and south in front of the "outer" Carpathians - as well as the Inner Subcarpathians , which lie in front of the "Inner" Eastern Carpathians .

The Subcarpathian Mountains are a transition area between mountains and highlands, which is mainly made up of young tertiary sediments such as sandstone and covered with loess. It is cut into deep valleys by the rivers and tributaries coming from the Carpathian Mountains.
