A sub-committee is a committee of politics or science , which deals with some essential aspects of a larger theme group. If the topic of a commission becomes too extensive - or if problems arise during the deliberations on detailed issues - a special sub-commission is often entrusted with the more intensive consultation. she can

  • or has to present their results for decision .
  • It usually supplements its circle of members with experts who do not belong to the original commission .

In the international scientific associations such as the ICSU , the IUGG and others, there are also numerous sub-commissions that oversee a larger subject area regardless of current problem areas. They also serve the publicly funded contact between the scientists and often also prepare specialist conferences.
