The priest or deacon usually works full-time in church administration (e.g. bishop's office ), in clubs or associations, in schools or universities, or is released for further studies (mostly doctoral studies); but it can also be already retired. As a subsidiar, he also takes on pastoral, mostly liturgical tasks in an individual parish, in a parish association or in another church institution (e.g. nursing home, hospital, etc.), which were officially assigned to him by the bishop or on his behalf. He fulfills these tasks in consultation with the responsible pastor .
